Hidden On the Fringe of Ubud
Overlooking the Tjampuhan Valley
amid fenceless fields carved out
of hillsides backed by the curve of coconut
palms and banyan trees wrapped in vines,
Koichiro Ikebuchi’s interior design defers to the
light
of Uma Ubud’s unusual location.

Carved panels open up the rooms to incorporate
views, while the simplicity of pared-down spaces keeps
light flowing through the interiors, from the bedroom
through to garden terraces, private courtyards and pretty

alang-alang thatched roofs maximises the sensuality
of untouched vistas and the gentle movements of

Accomodation
The fourteen superior Terrace Rooms, located throughout
the resort, are each 45sq metres with garden terraces.
There are ten Garden Rooms positioned along the
northern perimeter, all 53sq metres with a private
courtyard. The three Uma Pool Suites have infinity-edge
pools and uninterrupted views across the valley
down to the snaking river. The Uma Suite is similar,
but without a pool. The Shambhala Suite, located
on the southern edge of the resort, has possibly
the best infinity-edge pool, and a private treatment
area. |
